Congratulations to all current offer-holders! We look forward to welcoming you to St Hilda's College in October 2026.
This page contains important information about your offer and the admissions process, but if you have a query that is not answered here, please don't hesitate to get in touch by email to Rebekah Unwin at graduate.admissions@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk
What to do now:
- Read your college offer letter, Financial Declaration Form and college contract carefully
- Within two weeks: accept or decline your college place in Graduate Applicant Self Service
- By 30 June: complete the Financial Declaration Form in Self Service
- By 31 July: Complete the St Hilda’s accommodation form after your Financial Declaration has been approved
Please note: the University of Oxford is a complex institution, comprised of both departments and colleges. If you choose to turn down the college place you have been offered, please be aware that this means you are also turning down the University place on the course offered to you as the two offers are linked; you must be a member of a college in order to join the University.
- Accepting your college place
-
Your college offer letter is available in Graduate Applicant Self Service and if you accept it you will enter into a contract with the college. The content of that contract and your responsibilities under it are explained in the college student contract which is also available in Self Service.
Please read the contract and the current student handbook carefully before you accept your college offer.
If your Financial Declaration Form is available in Self Service, please respond to the offer of a college place in Self Service within two weeks. If the financial declaration is only available later, you must confirm acceptance within two weeks of your financial declaration being available. The offer may be withdrawn if we have not heard from you by this date.
(If the Financial Declaration Form is pending, it will not be possible to respond to the offer in Self Service until this is available. In those instances, if you decide to decline this offer, please contact Rebekah Unwin at graduate.admissions@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk)
Once you have accepted your college offer, you will receive an automated confirmation email message. This will be sent from a no-reply address; if you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact us at graduate.admissions@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk
- Accommodation
-
Please note that the offer of a college place does not necessarily guarantee you College accommodation. Accommodation is allocated on a first come first served basis only after you have fulfilled the financial conditions of your offer, and is subject to availability.
You can find information about college accommodation both on our website (which includes costs) and in our accommodation brochure.
To apply, please complete and submit the online St Hilda’s accommodation form.
If we are unable to provide College accommodation, other resources include:
- the University’s Graduate Accommodation Office which lets and manages rooms, flats and houses on sites owned by the University in and around Oxford city centre
- the University's Collegiate Accommodation Support Service (CASS) which provides a platform through which Colleges can let any unused rooms to students from other Colleges
- Oxford Student Pad which is run by the Oxford Student Union.
You may also find this guide to renting private accommodation in Oxford useful.
If you have any questions about accommodation, please contact Mrs Nicky Charles, the accommodation manager, at nicky.charles@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk
- Financial Declaration Form
-
The Financial Declaration process aims to ensure that you are fully aware of the expected fees and living costs associated with your course. It is your opportunity to consider very carefully the financial commitment you are entering into and to take full responsibility for it. If you cannot pay your fees and living costs, you will not normally be able to continue your studies.
You will need to:
- show that you have sufficient funding to cover the course fees for Year 1 of your course by providing financial evidence;
- confirm that you understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your course fees are met beyond Year 1 and that you have taken into account your personal circumstances and likely contingencies, if the duration of your course is longer than one year (no financial evidence of this is required);
- confirm that you understand that it is your responsibility to ensure that your living costs are met for the duration of your course and that you have taken into account your personal circumstances and likely contingencies (no financial evidence of this is required).
Information on the kinds of supporting documentation that we can accept (also available in the Essential Information for your course, linked from within the Financial Declaration Form in Graduate Applicant Self Service).
You can find out more about how to complete the declaration and points to consider in your financial planning on the University website.
We strongly recommend that you complete the Financial Declaration on a desktop computer/laptop and not on your phone.
Once you have completed your Financial Declaration, you will receive an automated confirmation email message. This will be sent from a no-reply address; if you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact us at graduate.admissions@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk
- Funding
-
College funding:
Please see our Graduate Scholarships webpage for information on college funding opportunities.
University funding:
The University of Oxford makes funding decisions on its funding awards between late February and June and you will be contacted directly by the University Fees and Funding office if you are awarded funding; please see www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/graduate/fees-and-funding/oxford-funding for details.
Accepting your college offer does not preclude you from consideration by the University or other colleges for their funding awards. If another college makes you a funding offer you would be moved to that college to accept it.
External funding:
You may also wish to look at information about finding funding from external sources on the University website and the Prospects graduate careers website. Your department may also have more information on funding.
What if I don't get funding?
You are welcome to provisionally accept your offer on the understanding that you may have to decline it later if you are unsuccessful in finding funding. We appreciate that lack of funding means a significant number of applicants have to withdraw each year after initial acceptance and no financial penalties would be incurred if you subsequently decline.
- Can I defer my start date?
-
Deferrals are granted on unforeseen and unforeseeable grounds. The process is handled by your department, not by the college, so please contact your department using the contact details in your Certificate of Offer in Graduate Applicant Self Service.
In order to apply to defer, you first have to meet both the academic conditions (set by your department) and the financial conditions (set by the college) of your offers.
- What happens when I have met the conditions of my offer?
-
Once you have met all the conditions of your offers (both the academic conditions set by your department and the financial condition set by the college), there are several steps to enrolment.
- You will be asked to complete a University card form within Graduate Applicant Self Service. Your card will be sent to college and held here until you arrive in October to begin your course.
- An Oxford email address will be produced and your log-in details will be sent to your personal email address.
- If you need a visa in order to study, your department will produce a CAS for you.
- In August, the college will contact you with welcome information and to gather various details, such as your visa information and your signed college contract.
- When you arrive in Oxford, you will complete enrolment in person in college when you will collect your card.
You won't need to pay any fees until early October, when you'll receive an invoice for your course fee, and a separate invoice for your accommodation (if provided by the college). Please read our college payment policy for more details.
