Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

PDF, Word and Excel documents

Some PDF, Word and Excel documents available for download within our website were not created as accessible files. As these files will be replaced periodically with updated versions we believe that replacing existing versions now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Prerecorded Video

Some pages utilise prerecorded video content from The University of Oxford. As this content is not under our control it remains exempt from the scope of the accessibility regulations.

All new or updated prerecorded audio and video content from St Hilda's College will meet the accessibility standards with the inclusion of:

  • Alternative text transcripts - To satisfy WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.1 Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded).
  • Captions - to satisfy WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded).
  • Audio description - to satisfy WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.5 Audio Description (Prerecorded).

What we are doing to improve accessibility

Work to address the identified non-compliant elements (listed above) is currently underway and it is our intention to have replacement accessible content in place by September 2024.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This website was last tested on 4 March 2024 and was carried out by REDBOT Limited.

This statement was prepared on 4 March 2024.

When choosing a sample of pages to test against the WCAG version 2.2 level A and AA criteria, we adopted a strategy of selecting one page for each of the fixed content templates along with several other pages that utilised our flexible content template. This approach ensured that we tested every available content type utilised throughout the website.
