Applying to Oxford

If you are planning to apply to the University of Oxford, be sure to give yourself plenty of time.

To apply, you need to submit a UCAS application before the deadline 6pm on 15 October 2024.

Depending on your subject, you may also need to sit a test and submit written work to your college.

Admissions tests

Not every course requires you to sit an admissions test, but if your course does, you are likely to need to register well before the UCAS deadline. For the most current information, please follow the link below.

Do you need to submit written work?

Written work is required as part of the application for some courses. We will contact you when we receive your application with instructions for providing written work.

If your course does ask you for written work, you’ll need to provide it by 10 November.

Subjects requiring written work from applicants

We understand that once you've applied, you'll be keen to know whether or not you will be progressing to the interview stage.

We let candidates know by email whether or not they will be invited for an interview no later than a week before the scheduled interview window for their subject.

Final decisions

After the interviews you’ll receive an email from us in January to confirm whether or not you have been offered a place, and if so, details of the grades you will need to achieve in order to take up that place.

Details on the feedback policy are available on the University’s website.
