The entrepreneurs and scientists recognised in this year’s 30 Under 30 list are advancing progress in traditionally underserved sectors, such as fertility, and developing innovative strategies to address challenges ranging from climate change to autoimmune diseases. Among those honoured is Dr Tin Hang (Henry) Hung, Croucher Fellow, Fulford Junior Research Fellow at Somerville College, and Lecturer in Biology at St Hilda's College.
Since the age of 21, Dr Hung has conducted research into endangered Asian rosewoods, the world’s most trafficked wild product. His current work examines forest trees, both to investigate fundamental biological questions and to underscore their ecological and economic significance. Utilising genomics, climate modelling, and machine learning, he predicts vulnerable populations and identifies optimal seed sources to enhance resilience in the face of climate change. A National Geographic Explorer, Dr Hung has collaborated with the British Ecological Society and the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
