College Gardener

St Hilda's College is seeking to appoint a full-time College Gardener.

We are looking for an experienced Gardener to join our small Gardens Team and to support our Head Gardener in the development and maintenance of the College’s gardens across multiple sites. The role will involve the full range of skilled ornamental gardening activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with an extremely interesting and varied plant collection. The gardens at St Hilda's are dynamic and evolving: they comprise numerous diverse areas - including a roof garden, an historic rockery, a rose garden and numerous mixed shrub and herbaceous borders - which demand continual attention and development. The College also has responsibility for managing a wildflower water meadow.

A successful candidate will be a passionate gardener with substantial experience in ornamental gardening and comprehensive plant knowledge.

The role has an annual leave entitlement of 38 days per annum including bank holidays, and a meal is available when on duty and the kitchen is open.

Please see Job Description for further details of the post.

If you have any questions about the role, please contact the Head Gardener, Deborah Bowden, at deborah.bowden@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk.
