St Hilda's College Outreach Webinars

St Hilda's is embarking on a webinar series for state school students that will look in detail at the Oxford admissions process, aimed at students at different stages of their applications.

Students are welcome to sign up directly using their school email address. The sessions will be held using Microsoft Teams and a link to those who fit the expressed criteria will be sent within two hours of the event's start time.

We will be adding more events in the series during the year.

This webinar is open to students from Year 10-12 and will offer guidance on ways to make informed decisions about the future, alongside pointing to useful resources that can help guide your research. Registration is now open.

Thursday 19th June 2025 (19:00-20:00) - An overview of the Oxford admissions process (for teachers)

This webinar is aimed at state school teachers who are supporting students in applying to Oxford in the coming October. We will explain what is required at each step of the process, the deadlines that need to be met, and offer some advice about how to best support your students in making a successful application. Registration is now open.

Wednesday 9th July 2025 (16:00-16:45) - An overview of the Oxford admissions process (for students)

This webinar is aimed at Year 12 state school students who are preparing to apply to Oxford in October. It will run through each part of the admissions process and what is required at each stage, alongside reminding you of key deadlines and offering advice for how to make a successful application. Wednesday 16th July 2025 (16:00-16:45)  - UCAS Personal Statements

This webinar is for state school students nearing the end of Year 12 who are about to embark on the daunting task of writing a personal statement. The St Hilda's outreach team will explain the UCAS guidance and showcase some examples of how to successfully write an engaging personal statement, with a particular focus on how to deploy supercurricular activities. Registration is now open.

Wednesday 15th October 2025 (tbc) - Ask a student:  Q&A with student ambassadors (for Year 12s)

This webinar will allow Year 12 students to ask questions related to the academic and social life of the University of Oxford to St Hilda's undergraduate students who study a range of subjects.

Wednesday 12th November 2025 (tbc) - Choosing your A Levels

This webinar is for Year 10-11 state school students who are considering how to make informed A Level choices that will leave a wide variety of options open for future study or careers.

Wednesday 6th November 2024 (16:30-17:30)- Interview demonstration, tips, and Q&A

This webinar is for Year 12-13 state school students who have applied- or have an interest in applying- to the University of Oxford. The interview demonstration will be hosted by a St Hilda's History tutor and History undergraduate, but the format and advice given are broadly applicable to anyone applying to study a Humanities subject at Oxford.

Thursday 14th November 2024 (16:00-16:45)- Making informed A Level choices

This webinar is for Year 10-11 state school students. This session will be run by the St Hilda's outreach team and will focus on how to choose a combination of A Levels that will provide you with a range of opportunities, whether that is related to university or the world of work.
