The College's Freedom of Information Publication Scheme follows the standard format required by the Information Commissioner. The purpose of the scheme is to make available to the public, as part of its normal business activities, certain basic information about the College. We have tried to make available on this website as much of the information as possible. Printed versions of documents and web pages produced by the College are available. A fee may be charged.

How we make decisions
St Hilda’s College is an eleemosynary chartered charitable corporation aggregate (meaning it is a corporation created, not for private gain or profit, but for the administration of a charitable trust or for a charitable purpose).
The Governing Body holds ultimate responsibility for all decisions of strategy, finance and administration for the College. It is chaired by the Principal and comprised of Official and Professorial Fellows, Beale Fellows and such Research and Supernumerary Fellows as may from time to time be elected under the provisions of College Statutes. Governing Body gives delegated authority for the conduct of certain aspects of business to its Standing Committees, the terms of reference for which are set out in College By-Laws.

The College undertakes a strategic planning exercise at least every five years, and our website is regularly updated with reports of progress and achievement.

Academic, student, regulatory and College-wide policies are published on our website and in Staff and Student Handbooks. Policies are maintained according to principles of best practice and under the overall authority of Governing Body.
