Biography
Originally from Southern Germany, I studied German and Theology at the University of Eichstätt, came to Oxford as a graduate student to St. Edmund Hall where I specialised in the area of Medieval German Mysticism and completed my MSt in Research Methods in Modern Foreign Languages in 1998, funded by the British Academy, and my Staatsexamen in Germany in 1999.
In the following years, I taught German in the contexts of Secondary School and Adult Education near Manchester.
When returning to Oxford in 2013, I started teaching Translation into German to all year groups and am now a Lecturer in the subject of German Language for a number of colleges.
I also teach Business German, mainly online.
In my non-academic life I like to play the flute and read novels with a view to using them in translation tutorials.
