Dr James Aylward

Biography

James is lecturer in clinical medicine at St Hilda’s College. He will be overseeing the delivery of surgical teaching for clinical medical students.

He is an alumnus of St Hilda’s College, graduating in 2018, before undertaking foundation training in south London. He is currently undertaking Stage 1 Anaesthetics training in North West London. He has completed the examinations for the membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and is currently working towards the Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists primary examinations.

Previously, he has delivered tutorials in bacteriology and anatomy to pre-clinical students at St Hilda’s College. He has been involved in simulation and teaching at Imperial College, and King’s College Hospital, where he was nominated for ‘simulation faculty of the year’ and given a departmental teaching award for ‘outstanding contribution’ by the department of post-graduate medical education.

James’ current interests lie in new educational methods and the role of simulation training in medical education.
