
We are delighted to announce that Dr Barbara Havelková, Associate Professor of Law and Tutor in Law at St Hilda’s, has been awarded the Flamma Prize, a prestigious Czech award recognising inspiring women lawyers.
The Flamma Prize celebrates outstanding legal professionals who champion diversity in the legal profession and uphold the values of truth, freedom, humanity, and democracy. Dr Havelková’s work in gender equality, anti-discrimination law, and feminist jurisprudence has had a significant impact both in academia and policy, contributing to the advancement of equal rights in the Czech Republic and beyond.
In addition to her teaching and research at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, Dr Havelková has served as an adviser to the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic on gender and law issues. She is the author of Gender Equality in Law: Uncovering the Legacies of Czech State Socialism and a widely respected voice in legal scholarship and advocacy.
