FAQs for Graduate Freshers

Before your arrival in Oxford you will need to complete the University Card Form sent to you by your Department (often referred to as your 'University student contract'). You will need to return the completed form to the University Card Office with a passport photo.

Around 10 working days after your University Card Form has been received, you will receive an automated email inviting you to complete online registration. There are approximately six pages of information you need to complete; it is important that you continue to the end to complete this stage of registration, otherwise the College will not be able to formally register you when you arrive.

You also need to complete the College Contract before you register, and return it to the Academic Office with a passport photo. The contract can be found on the Freshers’ web page.

When you arrive in Oxford, please come in to the Academic Office to complete the last part of the registration process. This part of the process can only be done in person. If you are studying in the UK on a Student Visa, you will need to collect your Biometric Visa from the Post Office on St Aldate's before you can complete the registration process. When you come in to register, be sure to bring your passport and Biometric Visa with you.

The opening hours of the Academic Office are 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

You will be given your University Card (also known as a ‘Bod card’) by the College Academic Office once your registration is complete.

Once you have completed your registration you will receive access to all IT facilities.

Once registered you will be able to print off your Certificate of Enrolment from Student Self Service. You will need this certificate if you plan to open a bank account. The College Academic Office will stamp and sign your certificate once you have printed it out.

If you are living in College accommodation, you can get the keys to your room and settle in to your accommodation before completing the registration process.
