Master lutenist Sergio Bucheli returns to Oxford to present a beguiling survey of the leading composers and virtuosos of Renaissance and Baroque music for lute, theorbo, and related instruments, with a particular emphasis on repertoire associated with the Italian and Western European schools between the 15th and 17th centuries. As shown by when Sergio gave the inaugural recital in our series two years ago, the chapel at 38 St Giles has a particularly special acoustic for plucked instruments, and this is a wonderful opportunity to hear lute and archlute playing at its most captivating, intimate and intense.
