Biography
Suellen Littleton is a Fellow of the Foundation for Management Education. She has held several teaching roles and has taught on undergraduate and graduate programmes in the University of London at Birkbeck College and the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her teaching interests span undergraduate, graduate and executive education. Suellen has taught Introduction to Management; Organisational Behaviour and Theory; Management of Nonprofit Organisations; General Management; Strategic Management; and Employment Relations. She has also helped deliver several tailor-made executive education programmes. She has also supervised a number of graduate thesis projects.
Suellen Littleton's research interests include nonprofit organisations; psychological contracts; management of change and leadership. Her research on social exchange theory seeks to improve our understanding of employment relationships in nonprofit organisations
As the NatWest Fellow of Strategic Leadership at London Business School, Suellen conducted research, executive education and consulting roles on behalf of London Business School's Organisational Behaviour and Strategic and International Management Faculties. Suellen is one of the protegees of Professor Sumantra Ghoshal, one of the most celebrated strategists of the 20th century.
During 12 years at London Business School, Suellen conducted research for the Booz Allen and Hamilton Strategic Leadership Research Programme and helped deliver London Business School's Global Consortium Programme. In this role she worked with top executives from some of the world's largest companies on corporate and competitive strategic issues as well as leadership development and CEO succession. She also helped lead the Explorer Network, a group of FT100 companies who met to form strategic alliances, share strategic knowledge and engage in partnerships across non-competitive industries. Suellen has worked and/or conducted research with top management teams in over 25 countries.
Suellen has presented academic papers and attended conferences on five continents and has served on the review board of several academic journals. She is active in the Academy of Management, The Association for Research on Non profit Organisations & Voluntary Action (ARNOVA).
Suellen completed her MBA at London Business School after undergraduate studies in California (BSc). She then continued at London Business School, which fully funded her PhD research into Psychological Contracts in the non-profit sector.Prior to undertaking her MBA, Suellen held a number of posts in media, advertising and publishing organisations, including work at USA Today, Kodak and FCB Publicis.
