Mr Peter Rickards

Biography

Peter Rickards joined St Hilda’s College in October 2023 as a Stipendiary Lecturer in Economics. Peter is currently completing his DPhil in Economics at Oxford and is on study leave from the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Peter’s teaching interests are in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics for Prelims and the core papers in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Quantitative Economics.

Peter’s primary research is in Monetary Economics, in particular how central banks should communicate with and educate the public. He uses experimental techniques to investigate economic literacy in the population, in particular how gender and education influences economic literacy and how central banks should communicate to this diverse group of individuals.
