Biography

I am a Leverhulme-Peierls Fellow at the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics, University of Oxford. The main focus of my research is on quantum error correction and fault tolerant quantum computing. My work in this field started after my PhD, during a position as a postdoctoral researcher at Station Q, Microsoft’s quantum computing team. Prior to this position, I spent four years as a PhD student in theoretical physics at Institut de Physique Théorique, CEA Saclay, where my work focused on critical lattice models and conformal field theories.

One of my current interests is to explore the connection between quantum error correction and the topics of my PhD. In particular, error correction can be mapped to a disordered statistical mechanics problem, with the threshold of the error correcting code being described by a conformal field theory. I hope that further exploration of this mapping can provide both qualitative insights into error correction and quantitative predictions about specific codes.
