The New Media Writing Prize (NMWP) encourages and promotes the best in new-media writing and is leading the way toward the future of the ‘written’ word and interactive storytelling. This international event is now in its 13th year. It has attracted entries from the very best and most innovative writers in the field, from all around the world.
NMWP shortlisters and winners also have the honor of having their work archived with the British Library.
The recently announced 2023/24 award was won by St Hilda's Alumna Florence Walker (English, 2016), for her work "I Dreamt of Something Lost."
I DREAMT OF SOMETHING LOST is a short interactive narrative about data, grief, and memory. You take control of Jules as they sit down to their desktop computer and discover a new message from their ex-girlfriend - who died a year ago to the day.
