2026 May Morning Celebration

Experience May Morning from the Best View in Oxford!

We are very pleased to invite you and a guest to a special May Morning Celebration on the St Hilda's College Rooftop, where you can take in spectacular views across the city as the day begins. Together, we’ll greet the dawn to the beautiful sounds of Magdalen College Choir, followed by a performance from one of our talented Music students, all accompanied by a delicious breakfast.

Additional donations to the St Hilda’s Music Fund is included in the ticket price as part of our 30th anniversary celebrations of the JdP.

Programme

5.45 am – Gates open; coffee and tea served on arrival
6.00 am – Ceremony of May Morning from the Magdalen College Great Tower
6.15 am – Address by the Principal, Professor Dame Sarah Springman
6.30 am – Drinks and breakfast with a special musical performance by a St Hilda's Student

Please note that spaces are very limited and tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Driving to Oxford:

There will be road closures in Oxford on the day of this event, please plan your route in advance. Please note there are now congestion charges for driving in Oxford.

Parking:

Parking at St Hilda's is only available to Blue Badge holders. If you are planning on driving to this event, there are the following car parks available locally:

Cowley Place - Spaces are limited and parking restrictions apply (Mon - Sat, 8am - 6:30pm, 3 hours free)
St Clements Car Park - 4 minute walk to St Hilda's College
