Accessibility and accommodation

St Hilda's welcomes all students with a disability (undergraduate and graduate). You are warmly encouraged to visit or contact us to discuss how we can plan to support you, in collaboration with the University’s Disability Advisory Service.

The College is working to improve access and this page contains details of what we are currently able to offer. There is also an Oxford University-wide Access Guide.

The College had many rooms that are specially adapted for disabled students. First year undergraduate students have designated rooms in Wolfson Building with an adapted shared bathroom, and for other undergraduate students there are adapted rooms with en-suite bathrooms in Christina Barratt Building and the new Anniversary Building. Graduate student assessible rooms are located in 205 Cowley Road.

Wheelchair access to the College is via the main entrance on Cowley Place (what3words link). There is accessible teaching space and access to the library via a lift. For other details of disabled access, please see the college map showing wheelchair access.

Library

There are many ways in which we can help users with disabilities to get the most out of the Library: find more information here

Arrangements for examinations

If students need practical help with, or extra time for, examinations because of a disability (for example, if it would be impossible for a student to sit examinations in the Examination Schools, or if a candidate needs to use a computer), the Academic Registrar can seek permission for, and organise, the required special provision. Please contact her at rebekah.unwin@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk.
