Baron Hague of Richmond: ‘Aid in the Age of AI’

Date
28 January 2027 / 5:30-9:30pm
Venues
Jacqueline du Pré Music Building / Riverside Pavilion and Terrace

This lecture series was established in honour of alumna Sue Lloyd-Roberts CBE (History and Modern Languages, 1970), the award-winning broadcast journalist whose uncompromising and courageous documentaries highlighted humanitarian issues across the world.

This year, we're very excited to be welcoming Baron Hague of Richmond, Chancellor of the University. Lord Hague will be delivering a talk on 'Aid in the Age of AI’, outlining how artificial intelligence and other novel technologies can be harnessed to deliver humanitarian objectives. He will discuss the role of technology in economic development, upholding human rights and holding perpetrators of war crimes to account.

The talk will take place in the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building and will be followed by a drinks reception. There is also the option to join our three-course formal dinner in the Pavilion at 7:30pm.
