Mr Trenton Sewell

LLB Camb, BCL Oxf, MSc LSE

Biography

I am a non-stipendiary lecturer in law at St Hilda’s college teaching Jurisprudence. I am also completing a DPhil in Law at Regents Park College, Oxford. My thesis looks at the question of:

When and Why do our Emotions Excuse Us?

When does the fact that our action has an emotional motive ‘get us off the hook’? Why would justified fear excuse, but unjustified hatred would not?

Before starting the DPhil, I was a graduate student at Hertford College, Oxford (for the BCL), and at LSE (for the MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy). I read law as an undergraduate at Christ's College, Cambridge.
