Kitchen Assistant

Want to be a vital part of our thriving kitchen? St Hilda’s College is looking for a reliable, practical and proactive Kitchen Assistant to join our accomplished Catering Team. In this role, you will work side-by-side with our talented chefs, helping to deliver excellent meals for our students, staff, and guests in our unique College environment.

You’ll play an important part in the day’s service: cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas, following food hygiene procedures, receiving and storing deliveries, and helping with basic food preparation when needed. It’s a varied role where your attention to detail will make a real difference to the team.

We’re looking for someone who works well with others, takes pride in keeping a kitchen clean and organised, and is willing to learn. You should be comfortable using your own initiative and flexible about duties and working hours. A Level 2 in Food Hygiene qualification would be helpful, but is not essential.

The role is 40 hours per week and may include evenings and weekends.

The College offers 33 days annual leave, including public holidays, a contributory pension scheme and a free meal when on duty.
