Medical Help

Doctors' Surgery (Weeks 1-8):

The College Doctors, Dr Antony Maddison and Dr Emma Walker, will not be running clinics in college in Michaelmas Term but have set aside time on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons when they will be available for telephone appointments with St Hilda’s students. To make an appointment, you should ring the Banbury Road Medical Centre on 01865 515731 and specify that you are a student at St Hilda’s. Alternatively, you can email reception at BRMC reception.brmc@nhs.net

Nurse's Drop-in Surgery (Weeks 0-9):

The College Nurse, Caroline Smith, will be running in person clinics in College on three weekdays each week and will be online for the other two days. If you wish to make an appointment, you should email her and she will respond during her working hours, as listed below during term (Weeks 0-9 inclusive). She is available for general consultation as well as providing help on specific medical matters.   • Mondays - 12.30pm - 3.30pm (in person)
  • Tuesdays - 10.00am - 1.00pm (in person)
  • Wednesdays - 9.30am - 12.30pm (online)
  • Thursdays - 10.00am - 1.00pm (online)
  • Fridays - 10.00am - 1.00pm (in person)

College Counsellor (Weeks 1-8):

The College Counsellor, Melissa Barkan, is on-site on Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings each week, Weeks 0-9. Appointments can be made by contacting her at counsellor@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk. Any student may also contact the University Counselling Service to arrange an appointment. 

Welfare contacts

Students seeking general help or advice may always consult their Personal Tutor or College Adviser. The Welfare Officer is available three hours each weekday, Weeks 0-9, and may be contacted for appointments at welfare.officer@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk. Her hours are:

  • Mondays - 2.00pm - 5.00pm 
  • Tuesdays - 9.00am - 12 noon
  • Wednesdays - 2.00pm - 5.00pm
  • Thursdays - 2.00pm - 5.00pm
  • Fridays - 2.00pm - 5.00pm
