This day of events is the culmination of the third Ensemble Isis <edge> residency in which an inspirational contemporary composer works closely with the student performers and composers from the Faculty of Music. One of the UK’s leading composers of her generation, Tansy Davies’s work has been described as being borne out of a fascination with nature and shamanism, and possessed with a thrusting, rhythmic energy. At 6pm, Tansy will present an extended pre-concert talk about her work that can also be heard online as part of the Faculty of Music’s < speaks > series. The ensuing concert is an exciting retrospective of Tansy’s works originally commissioned by BCMG and the Concertgebouw in Holland.
