We are delighted to invite you to our highly anticipated 2026 St Hilda's in the City networking and drinks event, kindly hosted by Sarah Higgins (History, 1981), chair of our alumnae Law Network.
This year's London gathering will take place on Tuesday 12 May 2026, at Charles Russell Speechlys central headquarters in London. We aim to start at 6:30pm, and the event will finish at 8:30pm.
We're very excited to announce that this year's speaker will be alumna Anna Hall (Jenkins, English, 1987).
Anna is a BAFTA, Royal Television Society and Grierson winning documentary director. In 2023 she was awarded the hugely prestigious Grierson Trustees’ Award for her lifetime contribution to documentary. She has been nominated for a total of 8 BAFTAS and is the only woman ever to be nominated in the Best Factual Director category two years running at the BAFTA Craft Awards. She still directs films - her latest films have included the BAFTA-winning ‘Libby are you home yet?’ for Sky; the RTS and Grierson-winning ‘The Push ‘for Channel 4; and the RTS and Grierson-nominated ‘Groomed: A National Scandal’ for Channel 4, which charted her journalism over 30 years of the gang grooming scandal. Her latest film, ‘The Dunblane Tapes’ for Channel 4, uncovered a secret cache of tapes of one of the bereaved fathers in Dunblane, which charted the first year of the families' campaign to change the law on hand gun ownership in the UK.
Anna now runs her own company, Candour Productions, and is passionate about creating inclusivity in the TV industry and empowering other female directors.
Tickets cost £35, or £25 for alumnae who matriculated in 2016 or later. This event is open to all alumnae, regardless of degree subject.
