The Mackinnon Society is named in recognition of St Hilda’s College’s first Medical Fellow and Tutor, Pamela Mackinnon, University Lecturer in Human Anatomy, co-author of the seminal Oxford Textbook of Functional Anatomy, and the driving force behind the inception and development of the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building. The Mackinnon Society serves to support the academic interests of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences students at St Hilda’s College through initiatives within these disciplines and to host exciting events for our students and alumnae.
To celebrate the foundation of the Society, we will be holding the first Mackinnon Society Conference on Saturday 21 February 2026. The Conference will comprise an engaging day of keynote speakers from a variety of medical specialties and biomedical research fields, followed by a four-course formal dinner, with plenty of opportunities to reconnect with fellow medicine and biomedical sciences alumnae, and with our current student body.
