St Hilda's Telethon 2022
The 2022 telethon will take place from 21 June to 6 July. A wonderful group of students will be calling alumnae to give you updates on College news and events, to find out about your life after University, and to seek support for the College's exciting projects. You can read about our individual callers below.
The telethon has taken place nearly every year since 2008. As well as being a great way of catching up with our Senior Members, it is an important fundraising event. The College relies upon philanthropy in order to continue providing the world-class education and supportive learning environment of which we are so proud. Our students will be asking, on behalf of St Hilda's, for regular donations to support the College's main priorities. These include our bursary programme, student accommodation and facilities, graduate scholarships, Access work, travel and research grants, academic posts, the Library, and much more! All of these funds go towards ensuring current and future students get the most out of their education at St Hilda's. Click here to read more about the areas most in need of support now.
Despite the challenges of the last two years, St Hilda's has achieved a great deal. We have completed the transformation of the entrance to the College, providing fantastic new accommodation and facilities in the Anniversary Building as well as a spectacular new riverside Pavilion. We have also, of course, had to manage the many difficulties created by the Covid-19 pandemic, to make sure that our students and staff were kept as safe as possible - often at great, but essential, expense. In addition, in the last two years we have provided more bursaries than ever before, enabling our students to continue their studies at a time when many of them have been unable to supplement their income with paid work during the vacation. None of this would have been possible without the support of so many of our alumnae, and so our telethon team will also be calling to thank you for your past donations.
Once again, our telethon is taking place remotely, but our callers will still be fully trained and supported throughout the telethon, as they always have been. To help them, and you, get the most out of your conversations, calls will be monitored carefully. Our students are really looking forward to speaking to you, and we hope you enjoy your call!
