Research Spotlight: Every Picture Tells Two Stories
This book cover of Mein Kampf must be one of the eeriest in St Hilda's College library. Through her research for her MSt in English (1900 – present), Anna Weber has tried to work out the dynamic between the two labels, St Hilda's and the swastika. Does the library sticker overrule the swastika, turning this book into a library copy like any other? Does the swastika stain the library tag, complicating the notion that all books should be freely accessible in a library? Find out more from Anna about the significance of this image in her own research and more widely in our latest Research Spotlight.
St Hilda's Research Spotlight series highlights research undertaken by our innovative, independent thinkers. The Fellowship pioneers outstanding research across all the disciplines represented in College. The Fellows support graduates in engaging with specific research cultures and wider networks, while the cross-disciplinary links in the College encourage development of creative collaborations across disciplinary boundaries.
