Naida and Gordon Duff

The Naida and Gordon Duff Fund

The College has established a new fund to mark the time in post of former Principal, Professor Sir Gordon Duff and Lady Duff (Naida Clarke, PPE 1967). The purpose of the fund aligns with Sir Gordon’s current work on health and sustainability and it reflects their shared commitment to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to provide a blueprint for a better and more sustainable future for all. The SDGs address the global challenges we face, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. We hope the Naida and Gordon Duff Fund will assist St Hilda’s students to make their own contribution towards these goals.

The Naida and Gordon Duff Fund will support St Hilda’s students to undertake project work, research and internships to develop leadership skills relevant to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Planetary Health. The fund will provide awards to current JCR and MCR students to pursue any of the UN’s SDGs with a focus on projects that address poverty and inequality. The fund would be open to applications from students at St Hilda’s reading for degrees in any subject.
