In association with the Beethoven Oxford Philharmonic Symposium, Professor William Kinderman performs Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111.
Professor Kinderman will also be giving a talk at the JdP directly after his recital (from 13:45 – 14:45), entitled Dystopian and Utopian Symbols in Beethoven: from the Appassionata to Op. 111. This talk is part of the Oxford Beethoven Festival’s two-day Symposium, whereby a host of revered academics from institutions worldwide will converge on Oxford to discuss the many facets of the composer’s life and music from its historical context, to what it means in the 21st century.
