iLoF, co-founded by our alumna, Dr Mehak Mumtaz, has won Microsoft Female Founders Competition
Oxford Foundry start up company iLoF, co-founded by COO Mehak Mumtaz (Biochemistry, 2016), CTO Joana Paiva and CSO Paula Sampaio, iLoF (Intelligent Lab on Fiber), is one of the winners of the second Microsoft Female Founders Competition. iLoF is using AI to build a cloud-based library of disease biomarkers, which could be used to drastically reduce the cost and time of drug discovery. It could also lead to more portable and easily accessible screening tools for conditions such as Alzheimer’s.
The winning companies will share funding from M12, Mayfield and Melinda Gates’s Pivotal Ventures. They will also be given access to technology, resources, mentoring and other benefits. Many congratulations to all! Find out more about Microsoft's Female Founders Competition.
