The Head of Buildings & Projects is responsible for the upkeep, improvement, and development of the College’s physical estate. This includes the historic fabric, the operation and maintenance of all buildings, and minor projects along with oversight of a programme of planned preventative maintenance works, managed by the College Surveyor.
In addition, the Head of Buildings & Projects is responsible for a programme of large capital-funded construction projects currently underway, providing enhanced student accommodation, tutorial offices and other multi-use functional spaces that support the research, teaching, and development of the College.
Buildings, Maintenance and Small Works
Alex Horsfall-Turner, College Surveyor
The College Surveyor manages the Maintenance Team. Supporting the Head of Buildings & Projects, he identifies, plans and ensures that both reactive and planned preventative maintenance tasks are completed effectively. He also identifies minor works needing attention, ensuring their cost effective delivery to agreed standards and timescales.
Maintenance Team
The Maintenance Team undertakes both routine and reactive repair & maintenance tasks in response to requests received from staff and students. All enquiries regarding repair & maintenance requests should be emailed to Buildings Support. Out of normal office hours, urgent faults should be reported to the Porters’ Lodge 01865 (2) 76884.
