The Elias String Quartet has established itself as one of the most vibrant quartets of its generation. Chosen to participate in BBC Radio 3's New Generation Artists' scheme, this season the quartet makes its debuts at Carnegie Hall, Washington Library of Congress, and the Vienna Musikverein.
Daniel Tong has performed as soloist and chamber musician at Wigmore Hall, South Bank Centre, and the Cheltenham and Aldeburgh Festivals. He also directs two chamber music festivals - in Winchester and the Wye Valley - and in autumn 2012 he will curate a festival of Elgar’s music at Kings Place.
These exceptional musicians come together for an all-Elgar programme, showcasing music that is by turns tempestuous, mercurial, and intensely lyrical.
