Progress on Transforming St Hilda's Site

Transforming our Site

We are making good progress with our plans to transform St Hilda's site. Preparatory work for the new buildings began on 7 August 2018. Our old Porters' Lodge closed for the final time and our temporary Main Lodge is now in place on South Lawn. Hall Lodge, a second Lodge serving Hall Building, will be in place from October 2018. Preparatory work for our new Middle Common Room began on 21 September 2018. We anticipate that it will be fully operational by mid-October.

The Oxford City Planning Committee West considered St Hilda’s planning application on 13 March 2018. The application was substantively approved, subject to later approval from the Committee in relation to certain design details. Our building project will improve and increase our student accommodation with 125 new rooms, and provide new social and teaching spaces, a new Middle Common Room, Porters’ Lodge and entrance by 2020. Across two sites, three distinctive new buildings will transform our College environment. Find out more about our plans.
