Our Grounds

St Hilda’s has one of the most beautiful settings in Oxford. Our buildings and gardens stretch along the river Cherwell, which flows under nearby Magdalen Bridge. From the lawns, you can enjoy beautiful views of Oxford’s dreaming spires. Our grounds have a hallowed history stretching back to the Middle Ages, when Edmund Rich, the first Oxford Don to be made a saint, used to wander through Cowley fields.

Take a virtual stroll through our gardens, look closer with our photo gallery, or watch a summer wedding video.

We were delighted to complete our new new Pavillion and Anniversary Building with rooftop garden offering wonderful views of Oxford's skyline for your drinks reception. Find out more about how we have transformed St Hilda's site.
