Part time

St Hilda’s College wishes to appoint two Junior Deans (to serve alongside one other Junior Dean) starting on 1st October 2018 for the academic year 2018-19.  There may be the possibility of renewal for a further year thereafter.  The Junior Deans will be required to reside in college accommodation (single occupancy), free of charge, and will be entitled to free meals at high table when the kitchens are open, and an honorarium of £3,000 per annum. It is expected that applicants will be pursuing advanced study or research. This post is not suitable for those studying for a one-year taught postgraduate course or for the BMBCh.  Hours worked will not be more than 20 hours each week.

Further particulars may be obtained from here, or from Helga Seete, Principal’s PA, St. Hilda’s College, Oxford OX4 1DY, tel: 01865 276813 or by email, to whom applications should be sent by 12 noon on 11th June 2018. Applications should consist of a full curriculum vitae and a letter outlining suitability for the post and any relevant experience.  Two referees should be asked to write direct by the same date.  One of the references should be from someone who is able to comment on the applicant’s suitability for the post. The other reference should be from the applicant’s university supervisor who is simply required to confirm that the applicant is in good academic standing. It is expected that interviews will be held on Tuesday 19th June. The College would especially welcome applications from those who have some prior experience as a Junior Dean, Assistant Junior Dean, or a similar role.

If the successful applicant is at another College they will be required to migrate to St Hilda’s College.
